Refund policy

Last updated / effective date: September 25, 2026

This policy explains when filing assistance payments can be refunded. It is part of our terms of service.

1. Refund eligibility and tiered policy

Request a refund in writing within 30 days of purchase. For purchases made on or after this policy's effective date, refunds of EntityFile's service fee depend on how far we have progressed:

  • Before filing review or preparation begins: Up to 95% refund; card processing costs may not be recoverable.
  • After review begins but before submission: 50% partial refund.
  • After submission to the state authority: No refund; the service has been rendered.

Requests made more than 30 days after purchase are not eligible under these milestones. Purchases made before this policy takes effect remain subject to the refund policy in effect when purchased.

2. Rejected filings and billing errors

A state's rejection or delay due to inaccurate or incomplete information you provided does not change the refund milestones above. If we made a filing error or charged you twice, contact us so we can investigate and correct the issue.

3. Payment disputes

Please contact us first about billing concerns. We may provide transaction records to the payment processor when responding to a chargeback. Nothing in this policy limits your rights to dispute an unauthorized charge under applicable law.

4. Government system outages

State portal outages may delay a filing. An outage alone does not change the refund milestones, including your ability to request a pre-submission refund while eligible.

5. Dispute resolution

Disputes about this policy are subject to the dispute resolution and governing law provisions in our terms of service.

6. Requesting a refund

Email [email protected] with your order reference and reason for the request. Approved refunds are initiated to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days; your bank may take longer to post the credit.
